:: new experiences :D ::
Playing the drums is great! I love it. Oh yeah, there is one news that's pretty big for me.. I actually sang at the main service! as worship leader! Our line up was the songs "sweeter", "through it all" and "evermore". I loved that experience! At first I was trembling with fear just to go up there! But when I stood there and started singing, all my fears just disappeared! I closed my eyes most of the time to just visualize myself singing to God (i dont see Him, I just feel He's there). It was awesome. The congregation was interactive! The youth band.. well, Jamie, the bassist, isn't a youth anymore. He's 20 i think!? but he's the youngest bassist we know! anyway, the youth band was great! and I really know that when we keep on playing together as a band for a year or so, we'll be pro's! haha! well, not really pro's but really really good. Coz by then, we'd be soo familiar with each other that we know how everyone thinks! Going back to my experience, I loved the second song which was "through it all".. I sang it twice actually coz our Pastor asked the band to sing it again for the "pray-over" thing they did after the sermon. Oh my gosh! That was the best ever! I sang that, and when I was worshiping with eyes closed, I took a peek at the congregation and saw them crying! I almost cried for joy! It was soo cool! I mean, the band's calling is to lead the people to worship right?? And when I knew that we accomplished what God has called us to do, it was unexplainable joy!! Those tears I saw rolling down their eyes were so... AH! i cant explain it! It was just so great!!
Oh. I'm gonna be doing volunteer work in a day care center near where I live for Religion Class in school. (It was mandatory to do Religion to graduate!) I started this afternoon after school! I came in and heard children playing. When I took off my jacket, scarf and shoes, and went in the little door that's not even passing my waist. I looked down on them and smiled! "Hi! my name's Erica :) What's your name?". And from there, kids just welcomed me and played with me as if they were my siblings :D
come here! come here! Come play with me!
Let's play Vet! Can I play with your hair too?
This is Mr. Froggie! If you're scared, just hold my hand ok?
sweet kids :) I couldn't help but smile. They were just so adorable! One even asked me while braiding my hair, "Do you want to work here when you become an adult?" I said "umm. i dont know". "please?? you can do college here". Apparently, she didn't know Day Care centers aren't college schools! haha! it was soo cute! And they were sharing their lives with me!
"My sister's name is Cindy and my granma's name is Mandy".
"My granma's name is Emma, she has my name too! ".
"What's your mommy's name?".
It was great! I love kids! They are sooooo uber sweet!! :) Then, it was time for me to leave.. I waved at them and one girl said, "hug! hug!", so I came up to her a gave her a hug! Others came to me as well and gave me a hug! Then the little girl said, "Bye! I love you!". I just kept smiling! I was smiling while walking home (people driving by probably think I'm weird just smiling there walking merrily!) It was really a fun fun experience!! and I can't wait to come back! That one hour of service work was like the cherry on top of the ice cream (i dont really like cherry, but you get the idea right!). It really made my day!!
Well, those are the new experiences I've encountered this week! I hope more will come!!!
